Rape Law Misused as weapon by Women - Uttarakhand High Court



The Uttarakhand High Court recently quashed pending criminal proceedings against a man who was accused of raping a woman on the false promise of marriage. The court found that there was no evidence to support the woman's claim of rape, and that the relationship between the two was consensual.

The court also noted that the woman had filed the rape complaint several years after the alleged incident, and that her delay in doing so was suspicious. The court further found that the woman had not suffered any physical or mental injuries as a result of the alleged rape.
In light of these findings, the court quashed the criminal proceedings against the man and directed the police to close the case.

Bombay High Court uplifts developer selection in a prolonged housing society redevelopment dispute
